Today Robin did the website. Pauly went out with Dad and John.
Mommy and daddy on the way to the Safari Park.
Benjamin, not happy that MaMa is holding him.
Of Course, he perks up when Sarah holds him.
Driving to the zoo.
Waiting to get into the park. We met another family today, they are staying at the White Swan Hotel.
They adopted a deaf girl who is 10 years old. They also have a deaf son.
Dean, a newly adopted 4 year old, was always camera ready with a winning smile.
Dean took this picture. He loves Pauly.......nice face Pauly.......eewwww.
We got to know the other families while we were waiting to get into the park.
Benjamin was not a very happy camper because he did not want to ride in the stroller. MaMa gave him some crackers and he was ok.
Apparently it's popular to go to the zoo on Sunday.
This is our guide in Guangzhou, Connie. Connie said the weather might be cool today so we need to be sure and pack an outfit.
Our beautiful little Lily.
We first went on a "safari ride." It was CRAZY trying to get on one of the cars.
This is what the safari cars looked like. Personal cars were also allowed on the safari road. Often times these cars would stop and stare at us instead of the animals.
Apparently these camels suffer from a lack of water by the looks of their drooping humps.
Nap time
These wildebeests ran in front of our safari bus.
It was feeding time for the giraffes.
These are for you Grandma Joan.
So are they white with black stripes or black with white stripes?
Jessica is a newly adopted 10 year old. She loved looking at the animals on the safari.
She is deaf and the Vedders are having fun trying to communicate with what little sign language they know.
These are Asian elephants--they are much smaller than our African elephants.
This black bear was quite high in the tree!
A tip from
Chuck--the best way to get away from a bear is to run faster than your companion
:)
Pretty kitty!
They had several white tigers. It was lunch time so we got to watch them catch fresh meat with their mouths.
You don't want to make one of these guys angry!
Again, the Americans made quite an exhibit for passing cars.
After the safari ride, our group walked around the park to look at the other animals.
Wouldn't want to flap the glass. :)
This is a sloth. We were afraid we wouldn't get to take his picture because he moved so fast! :)
For all of our Florida friends and family :)
Sarah's long lost brothers? I think I see a resemblance!
The girls.
We got to feed the giraffes! Their really long tongues could grab the leaves right off the branches! This was one of the coolest parts of the zoo.
\
Anyone want some emu meat?
Our koala friends were sleeping in the trees.
It truly is a great name!
Eventually both Ben and Lily ended up in the stroller......Ben and Lily, Josh and Jamie, CHECK THAT OUT!
Micah and Paul enjoyed the gift shop.
Jessica was showing off her new cup!
Pauly pointed out that he has yet to see an engine above 250cc's.
No trip to China would be complete without pandas. There were so many people in the panda exhibition it was hard to get to see the pandas. They're popular little things!
The kids were all tuckered out by our trip to the zoo.
Babies!
Omelet?
Infant incubator and Lily with an adorable little baby chimp.
Holding a baby white tiger.
Micah and Joel, sons of Chuck and Beth.
The dads were as tired as the kids! This is Chuck and John.
I see you!
"What do you want to do?" "I don't know, what do you want to do?"
"Now don't start that again!"
- Jungle Book
Waiting for the rest of the group....so we can leave the zoo.
Lily and Jessica, how cute.
Jason, this is for you, buddy! We are working on getting you a hat.
Right outside of Lucy's.
After the Safari park, we ate an early dinner at Lucy's and walked around Shamian Island.
That's a big meal for such a little guy!
Pauly's club sandwich at Lucy's.
Full and happy!
While at Lucy's, we saw another family who had gotten their child at the same time as we got Benjamin.
|We are happy to report that their son, Jin Pei, is doing quite well!
After dinner, we walked around and looked in some of the shops at Shamian Island.
Timmy, this is the shop that you bought your sword at.
Super star!
The kids played and then we went back to the hotel.
Tomorrow's agenda: Medical Appointments for the Kids!
